Dr Catherine Smith has nearly 20 years experience as a GP and is a fully qualified specialist in women’s health. A member of the British Menopause Society and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, she holds qualifications in advanced menopause care as well as contraception.

Dr Smith’s expertise in the provision of intra-uterine contraceptive devices (IUD's) and the contraceptive implant is driven by her comprehensive understanding of the important role that these play in the health and wellbeing of her patients.

Dr Smith is also a menopause specialist who holds the BMS Advanced Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care. This enables her to provide bespoke, comprehensive, holistic menopause care for her patients.

Contraceptive Coils & Implants

At The Coil Clinic, we specialise in the insertion and removal of the hormonal (IUS) coils, Mirena and Kyleena, and the non-hormonal (IUD) copper coil. We also insert and remove the Nexplanon contraceptive implant.
